GEO Academic Journal (GAJ) publishes multidisciplinary studies related to education and its resources. We welcome original articles that have not been published or are not under consideration elsewhere.


1. Scope and Eligibility

  • Subject Area: Multidisciplinary studies related to education and its resources.
  • Originality: Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
  • Language: All submissions must be written in English.

2. Manuscript Preparation

2.1. Length and Format

  • Page Count: Manuscripts should be between 10 and 15 pages only.
  • File Format: Submit as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx).
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt.
  • Spacing: Single-spaced throughout, including references and figure captions.
  • Paper Size: A4 or Quarto.
  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides.
  • Alignment: Left-aligned text; do not justify the right margin.
  • Hyphenation: Do not divide words at the end of a line.

2.2. Headings

  • Level 1: Centered, Bold, Title Case Heading
  • Text begins as a new paragraph.
    (e.g., Literature Review
  • Level 2:  Flush Left, Bold, Title Case Heading
  • Text begins as a new paragraph.
  • (e.g., Sampling Technique
  • Level 3: Flush Left, Bold Italic, Title Case Heading
  • Text begins as a new paragraph.
    (e.g., Table 1: The Gender of the Participants)
  • Level 4: Indented, Bold, Title Case Heading, Ending With a Period. Text begins on the same line and continues as a regular paragraph.
  • Level 5: Indented, Bold Italic, Title Case Heading, Ending With a Period. Text begins on the same line and continues as a regular paragraph.

2.3. Components by Article Type

A. Conceptual Articles:
  • Title
  • Full name(s) of contributor(s) (no titles)
  • Abstract (max. 100 words)
  • Keywords
  • Introduction (no heading)
  • Body text
  • References
B. Research-Based Articles:
  • Title
  • Full name(s) of contributor(s) (no titles)
  • Abstract (max. 250 words)
  • Keywords
  • Introduction (with heading)
  • Literature Review
  • Method
  • Results and Discussion
  • Conclusions and Recommendations
  • References
  • Appendix (if any)

2.4. Additional Formatting Requirements

  • Running Head: Abbreviated title (max. 50 characters, including spaces and punctuation), left-aligned at the top of each page.
  • Title: Only major words capitalized.
  • Byline: First name, Middle Initial, Last name (for all authors).
  • Institutional Affiliation: Full name of the institution, department, city, and country.
  • Abbreviations: Spell out in full the first time they appear.
  • Images and Figures: High-resolution (JPG or EPS files), publication quality.
  • References: List only those cited in the article, alphabetically and chronologically, formatted according to APA 7th Edition.

3. Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract:
    • Centered, bold, Times New Roman, 12 pt.
    • Single paragraph, no indentation, not justified.
    • Maximum 250 words (100 words for conceptual articles).
  • Keywords:
    • Label italicized, not bold, indented.
    • 3 to 5 keywords, lowercase except for proper nouns, not italicized nor bold.

4. Submission Package

  • Manuscript (formatted as above)
  • Brief CV of contributor(s)
  • Academic profile (credentials, current position, previous publications)

5. Review and Publication Process

  • Peer Review: Double-blind review by editorial panel.
  • Notification: Decision within 2 months of submission.
  • DOI: All published articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) via CrossRef.
  • Publication Fee: Php3,000 (USD55) per accepted article. Pay here.
